Production & Manufacturing

With well over 370 new and maintained like-new screw machines, K & K Screw Products, LLC is the largest shop of our type in North America. Known predominantly as a Davenport screw machine house, we also maintain a large complement of Acme-Gridley (large diameter), and Brown & Sharpe (single spindle/lower volume) screw machines. We equip many of our machines with secondary attachments, allowing us to perform most secondary requirements in one cost saving operation. We back those attachments up with numerous specialty secondary machines.

From operations in Glendale Heights, Illinois; Bristol, Wisconsin; East China, Michigan; and Monterrey, Mexico, we offer a broad range of capacity and capabilities including:

• Davenport Automatics: A Davenport is a 5-spindle, high speed highly versatile and completely automatic screw machine. The machine is best suited to produce machined parts in quantities of 250,000 or more, 1/8" to 7/8" diameter, with length usually not to exceed 3-4"; from materials ranging from brass, aluminum or steel.
  
• Acme-Gridley/ New Britain's: These 6 and 8 spindle machines specialize in high volume precision manufacturing with sizes ranging from approximately 1" to 3" in diameter.
  
• Brown & Sharpe: These single spindle machines are capable of efficiently producing parts in smaller quantities. General capacity is from 1/16" to 2 5/8" diameter.
  
• Complete Secondary Department: Additional K & K operations are available, including: drilling, tapping, milling, broaching, turning, ballizing, through feed and in-feed grinding and multiple station MSO machines. In-house, stat of the art, vapor degreasing and mineral spirit cleaning is also available. heat treating and plating are supplied by our approved subcontractors.
  
• Machine Rebuilding Facility: Regular, complete machine rebuilding from the ground-up means your job runs on a precision machine, every time. Additionally, our in-house tool maintenance facility allows us unprecedented accuracy.
  
• Inventory Warehousing Is Available: For our customer's convenience, we have a state of the art inventory control system. Our inventory system, coupled with J.I.T. delivery, means finished products are ready for immediate shipment from your blanket order/release.
  
• Lower Cost through Volume Material Purchasing: Due to our sheer size and material requirements, K & K is able to purchase raw material by the truckloads. Over 30 million pounds of brass, steel and aluminum are machined within our doors annually. Through our purchasing scale economies, as well as our excellent systems for recovery and resale of recyclable materials, K & K is able to offer competitive pricing from a material standpoint alone. Our material specialization includes many grades of brass, aluminum and steel.
  
• Customer Service: Customer service is handled by a professional staff of "outside" sales professionals and an "inside" customer support staff. Complementing these efforts is an Engineering Department ready to respond to your technical questions. All of our staff is supported by a state of the art computer system which allows quick, accurate information flow to all levels of the organization. Information flow from the customer to the shop floor takes only seconds.
